InputWeave 繁體中文

Privacy

InputWeave keeps your keyboard, mouse, clipboard and files on your local network. This page lists every time the apps or this website reach the internet, and what is sent.

Effective 4 November 2026. When this page changes, this date changes with it.

On your network

Computers running InputWeave find each other with mDNS (Bonjour) on your local network and connect to each other directly over QUIC. Every connection is encrypted with mutual TLS and pinned to each computer’s own certificate, and only computers you have paired can connect.

Keystrokes, pointer movement, clipboard contents, files and desktop pictures go only between your paired computers. There is no InputWeave account and no InputWeave server. Logs and pairing records stay on each computer; diagnostic data leaves it only when you export it and send it to someone yourself.

Update checks

On macOS and Windows, InputWeave asks inputweave.ctsite.cc for the newest release: about once a day while “Check for updates automatically” is on (Settings › General › Updates), and whenever you check by hand. The website, served by Cloudflare, redirects the request to the server that hosts InputWeave’s releases; both see your IP address and the app’s name and version, as with any download. An update is checked against InputWeave’s signature before it is installed. Turn the switch off and the app checks only when you ask.

On Linux, the package adds InputWeave’s package source to your system. Your package manager (apt, Software or Discover) downloads the package list and updates through inputweave.ctsite.cc, which redirects to the server that hosts InputWeave’s releases, when it checks for updates, under your system’s own settings.

License

If no license key is added, InputWeave never contacts Polar. When you enter a key, or a paired computer passes one to this computer, the app sends Polar (api.polar.sh):

  • the license key and InputWeave’s organization ID at Polar;
  • this computer’s name, as the label Polar shows for its activation;
  • when it confirms or removes the license later, the activation ID Polar gave this computer.

Polar answers whether the key is valid and with the buyer’s email address, which the app shows shortened, such as t•••@gmail.com. The app confirms the license again at most every 30 days, and only while its License page or About window is open. Remove License tells Polar to free this computer’s place.

The key is stored on your computers and passed only between your paired computers, over their encrypted connection.

Buying a license

Polar is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles taxes and sends the receipt. What Polar collects at checkout is covered by Polar’s privacy policy.
